About John Benedict
Got started in photography in 1964 at East Aurora High School in Aurora, IL. I was hooked and loved every minute behind the camera and in the darkroom. In 1966 I graduated and enlisted in the Navy where I eventually became a Photographers Mate. It was the most exciting thing I ever did and my only regret is that I didn't stay in and retire. After my time of service I went to Massey Junior College for fashion photography but do to certain circumstances I had to drop out. Shortly after that someone broke into my apartment and stole all my camera gear. When you have been a photographer you see the world differently. The things you see become cropped images in your mind. Light plays a totally different roll. You notice images that other people don't and I knew I had to get back to my passion. So, I'm back! I love wildlife and nature photography but I'm not to fond of event photography. I guess I'm a little shy. To sum it up: I sure hope you like my work because I sure do enjoy doing it.
